• The federal government is investing $56.1 million over four years to modernise its traveller arrivals systems.
• A trial of the digital Australia Traveller Declaration has run on selected Qantas flights since October 2024.
• Following the programme's success, the system will expand to all international airports and seaports, initially via a web form before integration with airline applications.

• South Africa launched its mandatory online traveller declaration system on 1 July 2026, applying to citizens, residents, and foreign visitors entering or leaving via air, sea, land, and rail.
• This system, managed by SARS, is primarily a customs control tool requiring declarations of goods and currency.
• Singapore’s SG Arrival Card, an electronic health declaration, must be submitted within three days before arrival by air, sea, or land for most travellers.
