• The European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is not mandatory and the launch date postponed until further notice.
• Scammers are creating fake websites purporting to offer ETIAS applications, capitalising on traveller misunderstanding.
• This electronic travel authorisation will eventually be required for visa-exempt non-EU nationals from 60 countries, including the UK, Australia, the US, and Canada, for short stays in the Schengen Area.

 United Kingdom critical

• Since 1 July 2026, UK Visas and Immigration stopped issuing physical visa vignettes (stickers) to successful new applicants for most UK visa types.
• Travellers will now receive an eVisa, which is a digital record of their identity and immigration status.
• Before travelling to the UK, applicants must sign into their UKVI account to view their eVisa and check permission.

 South Africa positive

• The digital authorisation is designed for tourism, business, and certain visitor trips up to 90 days, replacing the traditional visa sticker.
• It is linked directly to the traveller's passport, with applications processed within 24 to 48 hours, resulting in a QR code upon approval.
• The programme is available to ordinary Indian passport holders entering South Africa through O.R.
