United Kingdom Replaces Physical Visas with Digital eVisa System

Since 1 July 2026, UK Visas and Immigration stopped issuing physical visa vignettes (stickers) to successful new applicants for most UK visa types. Travellers will now receive an eVisa, which is a digital record of their identity and immigration status. Before travelling to the UK, applicants must sign into their UKVI account to view their eVisa and check permission. This digital system enhances security and simplifies status verification at the border, and for third parties like employers and landlords. Home Office travel documents are also now automatically linked to UKVI accounts, viewable alongside the eVisa.
