South Africa Launches Online Electronic Travel Authorisation for Indian Visitors

The digital authorisation is designed for tourism, business, and certain visitor trips up to 90 days, replacing the traditional visa sticker. It is linked directly to the traveller's passport, with applications processed within 24 to 48 hours, resulting in a QR code upon approval. The programme is available to ordinary Indian passport holders entering South Africa through O.R. Tambo, Cape Town, and Lanseria International Airports initially. Applicants must complete the online process, including a live biometric verification and paying an application fee.
