Why this layer exists
Entry is moving into software, and software changes every week.
What we count
The registry tracks 144 countries and 171 official portals. In the last ninety days 56 of those countries recorded an entry-rule change. Almost none of them were adopting digital entry for the first time. They were countries changing how theirs already works.
What we do about it
Each portal is checked against published criteria, and the date of that check sits on the page, so a reader can see how old the answer is. A person sweeps the registry every week. When a portal stops working we say so on the page rather than quietly dropping the country.
