PRIVACY-FIRST
BY DESIGN.
EntryCheck is a navigational signpost, not a data harvester. Searching the registry needs no account and no personal details. We count which country a search resolved to, so we know which pages are useful, and nothing else: not the words you typed, and not a profile of you. Like most websites, this site also uses third-party analytics and advertising cookies, described in section 3.
Last updated: 24 August 2026
1. Data Controller
EntryCheck is operated by Hildeed Global Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 11521929, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. Hildeed Global Ltd is the Data Controller for the personal data described in this notice. For privacy questions or to exercise your data rights, contact privacy@entrycheck.org. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
2. Processing Basis
We rely on Legitimate Interest to process technical data (IP addresses) for site security and preventing abuse. Where you give us your email to receive our newsletter or a report, we rely on your Consent, which you can withdraw at any time. The third-party cookies described in section 3 are set by those providers when you visit, and section 3 explains how to prevent them.
3. Analytics & Advertising Cookies
Two third-party scripts run on this site. Google Analytics records pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, and a randomly generated visitor identifier, so we can see which pages people actually read. A LinkedIn advertising tag records your visit so we can measure whether our own LinkedIn campaigns work. Both set cookies on your device, and the data is collected and held by Google and LinkedIn under their own privacy policies rather than by us. Neither is connected to the registry itself: we do not send your searches, the country you looked up, or the portal you clicked to either company, and we do not use them to build a profile of a traveller.
You can prevent both. Browser tracking protection, on by default in Safari, Firefox and Brave, blocks them, as does any standard content blocker. LinkedIn members can also turn off ad tracking outside LinkedIn in their LinkedIn settings.
4. Local Storage
We use browser-side Local Storage to remember your interface preferences (e.g. Protocol Acknowledgment). This data resides solely on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
5. Your Data Rights
Under GDPR/UK regulations you have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data. If you simply browse EntryCheck, we hold no name and no account. Searches are counted only as a total per country. Data collected by the third-party cookies in section 3 is held by those providers rather than by us. If you have subscribed to our newsletter or downloaded a report, the only personal data we hold is your email address, which you can remove yourself at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email, or by emailing privacy@entrycheck.org. (Developer API customers are managed via RapidAPI, see section 7.)
6. AI-Assisted Search
When you use the optional "Ask EntryCheck" AI feature, the text you type is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a response. We do not attach your identity to these queries or build profiles from them. Please avoid entering personal details into the AI box; Google processes this input under its own terms.
7. Developer API & RapidAPI
Our Developer API is distributed through RapidAPI, which manages developer accounts, API keys, and billing on our behalf as a data processor. If you subscribe, your account and payment data are held by RapidAPI under their privacy policy. Our API receives request data (such as the URL being checked) and IP addresses, used only for security and rate-limiting.
8. Newsletter & Email
When you subscribe to EntryWire Weekly or download a report, we collect your email address, and nothing else, on the basis of your consent. We use it only to send the newsletter, a welcome message, and any report you requested. We never sell or share it. The list is stored and delivered by Resend, our email provider, which may process this data in the United States. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time.
Retention Policy
We adhere to the principle of Data Minimization. We do not archive your search history. Technical logs (IP addresses) are retained solely for security auditing and protecting the integrity of the registry, kept only for the duration required by standard security protocols. Email addresses are kept only for as long as you remain subscribed; unsubscribing removes you from the list.
Third Party Boundary
Once you click a verified registry link, you enter a third-party government domain. We have zero visibility into their data practices and recommend reviewing their local privacy notices.
