Americas Update: Haiti, US, Brazil, Peru, and Cuba Announce Travel Changes
Haiti, US, Brazil, Peru, and Cuba implement new traveller entry requirements, fee adjustments, and system changes.
Travellers entering or leaving Haiti must complete an electronic iKat form within three days before travel, effective October 1, 2026. This digital requirement applies to both Haitian nationals and foreign visitors by all modes of transport. The ESTA fee for visa-exempt travellers to the United States will increase slightly from $40.27 to $40.62 on October 16, 2026.
Brazil has introduced electronic temporary visas for visa-exempt nationals, streamlining remote consular processes. Peru similarly launched its electronic visa and e-SAMI immigration platform to gradually digitise visa applications.
The United States is preparing to revoke up to 200,000 B1/B2 visas held by foreign nationals who sought asylum after entering as temporary visitors. Cuba's eVisaCuba platform will undergo maintenance, rendering it unavailable from August 20 to August 24, 2026.
