Angola Migrates eVisa Applications to New Online Platform

Angola has launched a new official online platform for electronic visa applications, changing the application process.

Angola's immigration agency, SME, launched the new platform in August 2026, redirecting users from the previous site. Applicants for tourist and business e-visas must now create a personal user account to submit applications and track processing status. Key changes include mandatory online payment of fees during the application, unlike the previous system where fees were paid on arrival. Processing is expected within 72 hours, requiring a valid passport, yellow fever certificate, and proof of travel, accommodation, and financial resources.

The former smevisa.gov.ao portal, which had until now been used for electronic visa procedures, now automatically redirects users to the new official website, evisa.ao.
