Australia to Roll Out Digital Arrival Cards for International Travellers

Australia will expand digital arrival cards to all international airports and seaports over the next 12 to 18 months.

The federal government is investing $56.1 million over four years to modernise its traveller arrivals systems. A trial of the digital Australia Traveller Declaration has run on selected Qantas flights since October 2024. Following the programme's success, the system will expand to all international airports and seaports, initially via a web form before integration with airline applications. The new system aims to streamline the process for international passengers while improving data quality for risk assessments. Paper arrival cards will remain available for those unable to use the digital option.
