Ghana Expands e-Visa Acceptance to 48 Ports of Entry

Ghana has significantly expanded its electronic visa programme, now accepting e-Visas and Electronic Travel Authorisations at 48 ports of entry. This updates the previous system, which only allowed use at seven international airports. The change, observed on 25 September 2026, applies to both tourist and business e-Visa applications and the ETA for African passport holders.

The expanded system now includes 37 land border crossings and four maritime or waterway entry points, in addition to the original seven airports. These new options facilitate arrival for travellers entering Ghana via routes such as Aflao, Paga, Elubo, Tema Port, and Takoradi Port. Although some Ghanaian diplomatic mission websites are undergoing maintenance, the national e-Visa portal remains fully accessible for applications.
