Ghana Expands Visa-Free Access to Maldives, Zambia, and Antigua and Barbuda

The new arrangements allow Ghanaian ordinary, service, and diplomatic passport holders visa-free entry to the three nations. These agreements, ratified by Ghana's Parliament, came into force following a public notice from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 8 September 2026. Ghanaian travellers can now stay up to 30 days in the Maldives and Zambia without a visa. An extended visa-free period of up to 90 days applies to visits to Antigua and Barbuda. The ministry cautioned that visa-free access does not exempt travellers from other immigration or entry requirements. Those seeking to work, study, or reside in these countries must still obtain the necessary specific authorisations. Travellers are advised to confirm current entry and health requirements before departure as these may change.
