Ghana Tourism Federation Urges Review of High eVisa Fee

Ghana's tourism federation advocates lowering the $260 eVisa fee to attract more international visitors.

The Ghana Tourism Federation (GHATOF) is pressing the government to reassess the current $260 eVisa cost. They contend that this high fee, combined with its single-entry limitation, places Ghana at a disadvantage compared to other regional destinations.

According to GHATOF President Seth Ocran, a family of four would face over $1,000 in visa fees alone, whereas neighbouring countries typically charge between $50 and $60. The federation believes a revised fee structure, potentially including accessible multiple-entry visas, could increase tourist arrivals from 1.2–1.3 million to 2 million.
