Hong Kong Introduces "Go Hong Kong" App for Faster Frequent Visitor Entry

Hong Kong's new "Go Hong Kong" app allows eligible frequent visitors to register for e-Channel before arrival.

The "Go Hong Kong" mobile application, launched on 16 September 2026, enables eligible travellers to complete e-Channel registration prior to their visit. Previously, foreign visitors typically registered for automated immigration gates only upon arrival in Hong Kong. Applicants must be at least 18, hold an eligible electronic travel document, have no adverse record, and have made two previous entries via Hong Kong International Airport within 24 months.

The free app processes applications within 24 hours, requiring an expected arrival date within three months and passport data scanning, including facial recognition. Upon approval, travellers must enter Hong Kong by their specified date to activate the two-year e-Channel access, which then extends automatically with subsequent entries. The app is currently available for Android devices, with no iOS version listed by authorities.
