India Ends Boarding Pass Stamping, Reminds Travellers of e-Arrival Card
India ends physical boarding pass stamping for departures, while e-Arrival Card and e-Visa requirements for entry remain.
From September 1, 2026, India will cease stamping physical boarding passes for international departures, allowing passengers to use electronic versions. This digital streamlining by the Bureau of Immigration aims to simplify exit procedures for all travellers. Regarding entry, foreign nationals must continue to hold a valid visa or e-Visa, unless exempt. Additionally, the mandatory e-Arrival Card, introduced on October 1, 2025, must be completed online up to 72 hours before arrival. The Air Suvidha 2.0 digital health declaration, reactivated on June 25, 2026, also remains a requirement for all international arrivals.
