Indonesia Raises Visa-on-Arrival Fees, Encourages Advance e-Visa Applications
Indonesia is increasing its visa-on-arrival fee, with higher charges for travellers who do not complete applications before arrival.
The visa-on-arrival (VOA) fee will rise from Rp500,000 (RM115) to Rp750,000 for those who fill in an e-visa in advance. Travellers who do not complete the application prior to arrival will be charged Rp1 million. This adjustment aims to increase state revenue and reduce airport congestion at major hubs like Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The new two-tiered fee structure applies to all nationalities eligible for Indonesia's VOA.
