Japan to Increase Tourist Visa Fees from July 2026
Japan will increase tourist visa fees for single and multiple entries from July 1, 2026.
The fee for a single-entry visa will rise to approximately ¥15,000, while a multiple-entry visa will cost around ¥30,000. These new fees apply to visa applications accepted by Japanese overseas diplomatic missions on or after the specified date. Travellers from visa-exempt countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, South Korea, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and many European nations, will not be affected. Applications submitted before June 30, 2026, will be subject to the old fee structure.
