Kenya Scraps ETA for Most African Visitors, Offers Visa-Free Entry

Kenya has dropped pre-authorisation requirements, offering visa-free entry to citizens of most African countries.

The change allows citizens from almost all African nations to visit Kenya visa-free, replacing the previous paid Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system. This policy excludes travellers from Somalia and Libya due to security concerns. Visitors from eligible African countries can now stay for up to two months, while East African Community members may remain for up to six months. Government ministries are tasked with finalising updated guidelines within a week, though an official start date has not yet been announced.
