Malaysia Confirms Visa-Free Entry for Indians Through 2026 Requires Digital Card
Indian passport holders can enter Malaysia visa-free until December 2026 but must complete a free Digital Arrival Card.
Indian passport holders benefit from a visa waiver allowing stays of up to 30 days for tourism, business, social visits, and transit.
This scheme, which commenced on 1 December 2023, is set to expire on 31 December 2026, with no extension confirmed at present. All eligible travellers must complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) online within three days of their intended arrival. The MDAC is a mandatory, free-of-charge digital form separate from the visa waiver itself, and it does not require an approval process.
Authorities have cautioned against unofficial websites that attempt to charge for the MDAC, urging travellers to use only the official government portal. Individuals planning stays beyond 30 days, or travelling for work or study, are not covered by the waiver and must obtain an appropriate visa.
