Nepal's Department of Immigration confirms the new e-Visa system will become fully operational on 17 August 2026. This digital process enables travellers to apply online and receive their visa via email, with applications generally processed within 24 hours. Standard tourist e-visas cost $30 for 15 days, $50 for 30 days, or $125 for 90 days. The system will initially run concurrently with the existing visa-on-arrival scheme, though some nationalities must still apply in advance.
