New Zealand Visitor Visa Applications Transition to Enhanced Online System
Most New Zealand visitor visa applications must now be submitted through an enhanced online system.
From 24 September 2026, new applications for most New Zealand visitor visas, including general, business, academic, and various specialist visitor types, must be submitted exclusively through the enhanced Immigration Online system. Applications previously drafted in the old system can still be completed and submitted there. However, from 8 October 2026, the old system will close for these visa types, and any remaining draft applications will be deleted. This transition streamlines the application process for international travellers.
