Oman Introduces Free 14-Day Tourist Visa for Select Nationalities

Oman's amended Foreign Residence Law Executive Regulations, published August 2, 2026, created a new 14-day tourist visa category. This permit is issued free of charge to nationals of designated countries, a list that includes the EU, UK, India, and Egypt, among many others. Travellers can convert the 14-day visa to a longer tourist visa before its expiry, subject to meeting requirements and paying applicable fees. The new rules became legally operative on August 3, 2026, aiming to enhance the country's appeal for short-stay visitors.
