Philippines Extends 30-Day Visa-Free Entry to 46 African Nations

The Philippines has expanded its 30-day visa-free entry policy to include citizens from 46 African countries.

The policy grants visa-free access for up to 30 days, primarily targeting increased tourism and investment to boost the economy.

To qualify, travellers must hold a passport valid for at least six months beyond their intended stay and possess a return or onward ticket. Nations such as South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, and Tanzania are now included, but nationals from Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, and Sudan still require visas. China and India are also excluded from this specific 30-day arrangement, though they may have other visa-free options for shorter periods. Visitors can apply for an initial 29-day extension through the Philippine Bureau of Immigration, extending their total authorised stay to 59 days.
