South Africa has introduced a R500 processing fee for its Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system, affecting all visa applicants.
The Department of Home Affairs launched a R500 electronic processing fee for its Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system on 12 August. This fee is outlined in the First Amendment of the Regulations on Fees under the Immigration Act. Travellers from visa-required countries exempt from visa fees will now pay only R500 for the ETA. Other visa-required travellers will pay a total of R925, which includes the R500 ETA fee and the existing R425 visa fee. This new structure aims to reduce overall costs compared to previous third-party outsourced services.
