Thailand Officially Launches THIM App for Travellers
Thailand officially launched its THIM application on 25 September 2026, offering digital arrival card submission and future immigration services.
The Thai Immigration Application (THIM) aims to serve as a "Digital Gateway" for foreign nationals before, during, and throughout their stay in the country. It provides an additional channel for travellers to complete and submit the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC).
THIM does not replace the existing TDAC requirement; the digital arrival card remains accessible via the Immigration Bureau's official portal. Future updates are planned to integrate various immigration services, including visa extensions, 90-day reporting, and Visa on Arrival applications.
The app, available since 1 August 2026, has seen over 600,000 downloads and uses NFC technology for e-passport reading, alongside Liveness Detection and Face Comparison for secure identity verification.
