Thailand Opens eGates at Suvarnabhumi Airport for 33 Visa-Exempt Nationalities
Thailand's Suvarnabhumi Airport now offers eGate entry for 33 nationalities meeting specific visa-free conditions.
Automated Border Control (ABC) eGates are now operational for arriving foreign travellers at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
Citizens from 33 specified countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, are eligible. These gates are currently configured exclusively for individuals entering Thailand under the 30-day visa exemption programme.
To use the eGates, travellers must also have completed the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before arrival. Furthermore, only those who have previously visited Thailand and have existing biometric data on file may utilise the system, with new passport holders potentially being directed to staffed counters. Visa holders and first-time visitors must continue to use traditional immigration counters, though future expansion to certain long-stay visa categories is anticipated.
