Uganda Removes Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate as Mandatory Entry Requirement

Uganda has officially removed the mandatory yellow fever vaccination certificate requirement for all arriving travellers.

Uganda's National Citizenship and Immigration Control (NCIC) officially announced the removal on 2 October 2026.

The change affects all travellers and is reflected on the electronic visa portal and in immigration entry requirements. It also applies to the single-entry tourist visa, where the certificate has been absent from requirements since last year.

Travellers still needing a tourist visa must apply online; it costs US$50 and is valid for 90 days.

Despite the administrative change, the World Health Organization continues to recommend yellow fever vaccination for those aged nine months and older visiting Uganda. This is due to the ongoing risk of transmission identified within the country.
