US ESTA Fee Will Rise by 35 Cents in October 2026

The United States ESTA application fee will increase from $40.27 to $40.62 on October 16, 2026.

The approved Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) will cost $40.62, up from $40.27, representing a 35-cent increase. This modest adjustment stems from an annual inflation mechanism established by US legislation, HR-1, impacting only the system operation component. For denied applications, the charge will rise from $10.27 to $10.62.

This new fee applies to all ESTA applications submitted on or after October 16, 2026. Travellers holding valid ESTA authorisations are unaffected and do not need to take any action or pay additional fees. ESTA permits visa-free travel for eligible nationals from 42 Visa Waiver Program countries for business or tourism stays of up to 90 days.
