Laos Extends e-Visa Entry Validity to 180 Days Temporarily

Laos is temporarily extending its e-Visa approval letter validity from 60 to 180 days for entry.

The temporary measure, observed since April 2026 and still active in September 2026, grants travellers more time to utilise their authorisation to enter the country. While the standard validity for using the e-Visa is 60 days from approval, current notifications state 180 days. This change offers greater flexibility for entry but does not alter the permitted maximum stay, which remains 30 days. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs cites "current travel conditions" for this facilitative measure, likely linked to Middle East disruptions. Travellers should check their individual e-Visa approval letters for the exact validity period, as the official online portal has not been updated. The measure is subject to review and may revert to 60 days without prior notice.
